As in the case of the painting titled “Building Wall” abstraction is created by reduction to flat colour and tightly cropping the scene. Again trying to achieve a combination of non objective abstraction and representation in a single painting.

There’s a story behind this one. These two houses were across the street and a few doors east from the house I grew up in. The old neighbour in the right house was helping to repair the roof of the man that lived in the left house. The old man fell two stories between these two houses and died. I heard as a boy that the younger neighbour didn’t even go to the funeral. Whether he did or didn’t I’ll never know. The buildings are cropped to create an abstraction of shapes.
