Dark Romanticism
Spring of 2013 the D’Orsay in Paris mounted an exhibit called L’Ange du Bizarre. A genre of art inspired by the fears and anxieties of turbulent times. Today’s entertainment industry, with ghosts, vampires and zombies draws on this dark work. The artwork exhibited was a facinating depiction of the bizarre and macabre. The following text was written for the exhibition.
